Friday’s Threesome 25 July

The idea of these challenges is to use the given prompts to create a piece of flash fiction (100-200 words) or a poem (14-20 lines). Word and line counts are a guideline only let your muse dictate.

The challenge today offers three quotations to inspire the creative muse, using one, two or all three as a prompt.

The quotations for this week are:

  • Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars – Kahlil Gibran
  • Metaphysics is the finding of bad reasons for what we believe upon instinct; but to find these reasons is no less an instinct – Francis H. Bradley
  • I put a piece of paper under my pillow, and when I could not sleep I wrote in the dark – Henry David Thoreau
